Apple Wireless System Engineering team is looking for an engineer to work on radiated system characterization across different cellular technologies for Apple’s wireless products

Key Qualifications

  • You have working experience with antenna design/tests, antenna and wave propagation, anechoic chambers, and radiation performance evaluation like TRP & TIS.
  • Working experience with different lab equipment: network analyzers, signal generators, signal analyzers, call boxes (i.e., CMW/ UXM/ 8960), channel emulators, etc.
  • Experience with different wireless communication systems such as GSM/GPRS/EDGE/LTE, 5G mmWave, etc. including the corresponding system level specifications (e.g., ETSI 51.010, 51.05…) is a plus.
  • Experience with carrier/ industry conformance radiated performance requirements like 3GPP, PTCRB, CTIA, ETSI, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills required, both written & verbal.
  • Programming skills in C, C++ would be a plus

Description

- Validating OTA Cellular test cases for different carrier/industry conformance requirements in certification test setups. - Translating industry conformance/ regulatory/ carrier specification requirements into test cases. Coordinating with regulatory compliance/ carrier management teams to ensure product validation covers all certification/performance tests. - Define/execute validation plan for custom SW features - Debugging marginal/failure tests with cross-functional teams like RFHW /Antenna/ Product Design/EE/etc. and drive design changes to address issues - Maintain test setups via periodic checks, calibration, etc. - Drive planning/executing on final radiated certification testing at 3rd party test labs for PTCRB/CTIA testing.

Education & Experience

BS degree in technical discipline with minimum 10 years of relevant experience.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
