JOB SUMMARY

The Job Developer 2/Case Manager V reports to the Program Director, works closely with the employer community in marketing program services and develops work experience opportunities for participants. The Job Developer 2/Case Manager V provides direct case management services to all participants and assists job seekers in securing and retaining employment.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provides support with participants files.
  2. Monitors WDB participant's status rosters and related forms.
  3. Conducts searches for suitable job openings for participants.
  4. Coordinates efficient and appropriate job placement.
  5. Provides Work Experience site development.
  6. Coordinates Work Experience placements.
  7. Prepares Work Experience training agreements.
  8. Oversees Work Experience progress.
  9. Coordinates all Work Experience payroll transactions.
  10. Assists participants with employment application and process.
  11. Maintains a current listing of local job opportunities.
  12. Provides case management services for assigned case load.
  13. Provides support with outreach and recruitment activities as needed to meet contract performance goals.
  14. Completes and submits all WDB paperwork to the Workforce Development Board Staff.
  15. Represents the Youth Employment Program at the Offices for America's Job Center.
  16. Establishes rapport and maintains effective relationships with area businesses.
  17. Conducts follow-up services.
  18. Develops and maintains detailed knowledge of the local labor market.
  19. Conducts employment related workshops.
  20. Verifies and collects employment data.
  21. Enters employment information in (CalJobs) database.
  22. Works with case management staff to facilitate job placements.
  23. Maintains database of initial inquiry and placement statistics.
  24. Updates in-house reports.
  25. Coordinates and purchases client support service needs.
  26. Provides Employer and Community awareness education.
  27. Responsible for job search, job placement and retention activities.
  28. Attends training seminars as required.
  29. Will drive on Agency business.
  30. Provides support for other projects as needed.
  31. Flexible to work outside of normal business hours for events and/or meet deadlines.
  32. Thinks and acts quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
  33. Complies with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to: workplace safety, reporting work related injuries, Infection Control and preventing potential safety risks for staff, participants and others.

  35. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee at Turning Point. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working. Employees also are expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule. Late arrival, early departure or other absences from scheduled hours are disruptive and must be avoided.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent education; some business college preferred.
  2. Ability to work with ages 18 and over.
  3. Ability to use the equipment necessary to complete the responsibilities of the job.
  4. Knowledge of the employer community and the local labor market.
  5. Ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality, integrity and tact.
  6. Must be able to use personal vehicle for Agency business.
  7. Will drive on agency business.
  8. Ability to work with young adults, especially those in difficult financial and personal crisis.
  9. Ability to work as part of a team cooperating with supervisor and co-workers in order to provide optimum customer service.
  10. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  11. Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.
  12. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  13. Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, general physical, and TB test.
  14. Must maintain good relationships with consumers, co-workers, government and civic representatives, as well as community members within whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to them in a professional manner.
