To meet the expected performance and enable flawless integration into the Apple architecture, the majority of these components are custom designed and fabricated to our needs. The long lead times means that doing it right the first time is key to success. This holds true for image sensors, drivers and VCSELs alike. The Apple Camera Team is looking for an Engineering Project Manager (EPM) to support the design, development and integration of imaging sensors and projectors into camera modules for our iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision products. In this highly multi-functional role, leveraging your design background, you will oversee the efforts to drive programs from kick-off to production oftentimes aligning with Sensor engineering, Camera Module Design, SoC, FW, SW, Procurement, and Operations teams. Additionally, you will forge strategic relationships with internal & external teams to lead issue resolution, communicate status/issues/next steps and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role will also entail driving Apple suppliers to design, manufacture, and integrate the world's best imaging sensors and depth technology for Apple's entire product line.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong expertise with CMOS Image sensors or related fields.
  • One of Analog, Digital, Validation or CMOS pixel design experience
  • Familiarity with driving feature set for new silicon and the silicon design process
  • Experience with international OEM/ODM silicon foundry partners
  • Understanding of high volume production and test processes
  • Ability to travel internationally (<10>
  • Extraordinary listening, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • A real passion for photography, digital imaging and consumer products
  • Good knowledge with sensor performance metrics, including pixel performance parameters is a plus


Description

You will define and drive the development schedule for camera silicon components and serve as the primary point of contact for Apple with our vendors. You will be the advocate for the component definition and performance throughout the organization. In addition, you will actively seek out and ensure proper multi-functional input and review of specifications and drive efficient and thorough evaluation of components both internally and at our development partners. - You are responsible for delivering components on schedule, facilitating risk management and communicating status and issues to the development team and Apple executives. - If you are a structured and focused organizer with the ability to drive a versatile, passionate, expert multi-functional team and external suppliers, this role is for you. - Experience in imaging sensor or depth technology development is a requirement. - Experience with project management, camera modules or mobile phone system design is a plus!

Education & Experience

BS and a minimum of 10+ years of relevant industry experience is required.

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $160,700.00 and $282,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
