OVERVIEW:

The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring lodging, meeting spaces, and other assigned housekeeping areas are cleaned in a manner that presents a constant image of cleanliness, order, and a high standard of sanitation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness of all camp buildings used by guests.
  • Clean and prepare all areas for use by rental group.

Dust down windows, doorways, and all cobwebs

    • Sweep floors and porches.
    • Scrub bathroom sinks, showers, toilets, and clean mirrors.
    • Mop and disinfect bathroom shower and floor.
    • Re-stock all paper products.
    • Empty all trash to main dumpster and replace can liner.
    • Check and replace burnt light bulbs.
    • Make up beds in all Lodges and guest housing and put out towels.
    • Vacuum all carpets, and porch areas with rugs.
  • Collect, wash, dry, and fold any linen, sleeping bags, or other items that have been used by rental groups.
  • Maintain laundry room(s) in clean and orderly fashion.
  • Maintain Cleaning Closet(s) in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Secure all janitorial/housekeeping supplies and equipment pertinent to guest services, including communication with linen and bath resource rental supplier, as approved by the Operations Director. Maintain inventory of supplies needed
    • Order replacement supplies through the Housekeeping Lead supervisor.
    • Re-stock Cleaning Closest(s) and laundry room with supplies.
  • Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of all cleaning equipment (carper cleaner, vacuums, mops, etc.)
  • Check lights, smoke detectors, CO2 detectors and fire extinguishers. Replace batteries and bulbs as needed.
  • If fire extinguisher has been discharged, inform Operations Director to schedule service or replacement.
  • Assist the Assistant Camp Director in any duties as requested in order to maintain a consistently high level of efficiency in the operation of the camp.
  • Ensure the readiness of all accommodations and restrooms for incoming rental groups.
  • Assist in the cleanliness of meeting indoor meeting spaces, as needed.
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance as best as possible in working circumstances.
  • Meet with the Assistant Camp Director and Operations Director semi-annually to participate in setting priorities and recommendations for replacement of housekeeping equipment and tools, including vacuums and specialized cleaning tools and sleeping accommodation related resources that are camp owned, such as mattresses, pillows, bedspreads, blankets, sheets and towels
  • Other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 21 Years old (Required)
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain good rapport and communication with other staff members and guests

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software
    • Relevant janitorial and maintenance equipment
