THE ROLE:

Looking for a passionate and self-motivated problem solver who cares deeply about providing a positive customer experience and leveraging technology to maximize workplace efficiency. Reporting to the Sr. Staff Customer Quality Engineer, this customer quality engineering role will support customer quality engagements across several AMD markets for component and board-level products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • New product introduction support.
    • Support marketing messaging related new product release for components & boards.
    • Remove customer qualification barriers to new product sales including characterization, testing, reliability, and environmental.
  • Manage quality perception with sales, factory, and key customers.
    • Understand emerging customer quality, use profiles, and environmental requirements
    • Shape & improve customer quality scorecard results
    • Plan and manage customer technology assessments, audits, and visits
  • Drive customer issue handling
    • Work closely with sales FAE's & technical support to diagnose application issues & other customer problems
    • Work with support, design, product, and test engineering to drive root cause and preventive action using 8D methodology
    • Ensure smooth internal factory hand-offs with internal technical teams for customer issues & product returns
    • Provide technical application assistance in failure analysis
  • Build next-generation customer support tools
    • Collaborate with cross-functional team leaders to brainstorm and build new tools to improve customer experience and team efficiency
    • Link and structure large datasets
    • Dashboard or wiki centralized information
    • Create AI/ML engines to guide decision making and automate basic tasks
    • Gather and present metrics on system effectiveness

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Entry-level experience in semi-conductor electronics or data structuring / programming strongly preferred.
  • Experience with board-level quality a plus.
  • Experience with datacenter, automotive, or aerospace a plus.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
