THE ROLE:

AMD seeks a passionate, collaborative leader with strong technical skills and the initiative to motivate an expert team. Your technical expertise will be utilized to design the next generation of processor systems for the next SOC. You will manage a Silicon Engineering group and innovate with internal teams and external partners to create the next generation of computing technologies.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate has proven and extensive experience with RTL design and CPU architecture. This person should be comfortable with leading others in technical and managerial settings. You also have excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver high quality RTL designs for Synthesis and PNR
• Lead a high-performance engineering team
• Form a team and nurture talents
• Lead the team to meet schedule commitments and provide strong support to various customers
• Collaborate with multi-functional leaders to drive AMD's success

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• A strong leader with experience working with a distributed team
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills
• Proven experience managing and leading engineering teams
• Prior experience in optimizing performance
• Strong front-end RTL engineering background
• Strong communications skills. Able to summarize complex problems for executive as well as drill down to details with architects and engineers
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze current behavior, identify potential areas for improvement and design of experiments
• Understanding of Arm architecture and APB, AXI, CHI protocols
• Understanding of Coherent Mesh Network (CMN) designs
• Experience with design reuse, including RTL, Constraints, and Waivers
• Experience with SoC level design integration
• Experience with automation using scripting techniques such as PERL, Python, or Tcl
• Experience with timing constraints and timing exceptions
• Experience running standard quality checks such as LINT and CDC
• Experience designing with multiple power domains including writing UPF
• Must be a self-starter and self-motivated
• Prior experience Managing technical teams

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering
