The Caregiver provides quality health and wellness care to the residents of Independent Living (IL) and Assisted Living (AL). Ensures that nursing care remains in accordance with the community's standards of practice and regulatory requirements at all times.

Responsibilities

* The Caregiver assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring and getting to and from activities.

* Records and reports changes in residents eating habits to supervisor

* May assist in preparation of meals and will help serve meals.

* Provide light housekeeping and cleaning

* Interacts with residents and families/responsible parties and staff; answers questions, gives direction and support

* Acts as a mandatory reporter for all suspected abuse situations and complies with all HIPAA standards of practice

* Performs any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Ability to communicate effectively with staff, colleagues and supervisors

* Must be able to participate in meetings as necessary

* Ability to read, speak well and be understood in the English language

* Computer literacy

Education and Qualifications

* Current BLS or CPR and First Aid certification

* High school diploma or equivalent

* At least 6 months experience as a caregiver in acute or geriatric care setting preferred
