Aiming to create the future of LG with the focus on disruptive and exponential growth, LG NOVA works with global corporations, startups, governments, and technology stakeholders to create new businesses, establish strategic partnerships, and develop a broad ecosystem using the process of "outside-in" innovation.

We will be launching an exciting stealth cleantech new venture powered by LG and we are looking for a visionary and passionate Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead this new venture.

Chief Executive Officer, New Stealth Cleantech Venture (Spinoff from LG NOVA)LG NOVA is looking for an experienced and dedicated CEO to lead and build out this new cleantech venture, which will operate as an independent entity funded by LG and other investors. The CEO will oversee all activities of the new venture, including new business model & strategy development, team building, product development, finance and growth. The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for the staff, oversee team initiatives, and help make data-driven decisions that elevate the new venture's financial and operational performance. They will also represent the new venture to its board and key LG NOVA and LG Electronics stakeholders that are supporting the growth of the new entity.

As the senior leader at a fast-paced new cleantech venture, the chief executive officer will foster a positive, inspiring, and collaborative work environment that empowers employees to actively work toward the goals of the new venture. To effectively lead this new entity as it grows into a robust cleantech business and helps LG expand its footprint in this sector, we are looking for a seasoned startup founder or executive with successful exits and deep energy and clean technology expertise.

Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the overall strategy, product vision and development of the new venture, including building up the core team and helping the organization successfully develop and launch its product offering
  • Drive business development and sales activity, and be responsible for the growth and P&L of the new venture.
  • Be the key representative of the new venture in communicating important decisions to business stakeholders and the board.
  • Manage the new venture's overall development and ensure that general operations run seamlessly as employees accomplish established goals
  • Make strategic and financial decisions that determine the trajectory of the new venture
  • Monitor budgets, resources, and procedures by working with cross-functional teams
  • Develop, execute, and assess top business strategies that will propel the new venture's growth
  • Collaborate with other executives, managers, and employees to identify meaningful solutions
  • Create a positive culture through strong, inspirational leadership

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree and above, in computer science, engineering, business, or relevant field
  • Deep expertise of the energy and the software-based clean technology sector, including the current market landscape and recent technology trends and innovations within this sector
  • Experience leading and growing a venture-backed startup within the cleantech sector
  • Experience developing software-based, recurring-revenue business models
  • Experience defining technology products and successfully bringing them to market
  • Experience raising funding from venture capitals or other institutional investors
  • Expert understanding of corporate finance and business management
  • Strong knowledge of financial, technical, and economic concepts
  • Proven success as a startup executive managing multiple teams
  • Familiarity with regional regulatory compliance within the energy sector
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for establishing positive working relationships
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and accomplish business objectives

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Successful exit(s) with startups founded or led as a senior executive
  • MBA from a top tier program
  • Experience working with or interacting with large global international companies

Please Note:This position will initially be with LG NOVA as a contractor as the new venture prepares for spinoff with the intention for the role to then move over to the new venture, a startup supported by LG NOVA, once it launches as an independent legal entity.
