We are in the process of launching a new digital health startup company powered by LG and are looking for a visionary and passionate Director of Business Development to be responsible for developing and executing the sales and marketing strategy for our innovative digital health solutions. You will coordinate with a team of business development, sales and marketing professionals, drive revenue planning, establish and expand our market presence, and build strong relationships with our customers and partners.

What you'll do:

  • Develop, refine and implement the business development, sales and marketing plans for our digital health products and services, aligned with the company's vision, mission, and goals and toward competitive advantage
  • Work closely with CEO, CTO, and product team to coordinate product roadmap, with sales feedback and future vision leading to actionable customer engagements
  • Together with CEO (and/or CFO/VP of Finance) establish sales targets, strategies, processes for achievement
  • Build a pipeline of projects and sales prospects in the addressable markets
  • Develop and lead marketing campaign that builds market awareness over time and then moves to scale
  • Lead the preparation of and manage the business development budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics, ensuring optimal return on investment and profitability
  • Coach, and motivate the sales and marketing teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, markets, and segments, leveraging our competitive advantages and value proposition
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, partners, industry influencers, and other stakeholders
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, events, and media interviews, promoting our brand awareness and thought leadership
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and regulatory changes, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Determine and develop or lead development of communications tools, presentations etc. for internal and external (Board) stakeholders

We'd love you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, engineering, or related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business development or sales and marketing management
  • Minimum of 7 years of sales in the healthcare sector with a knowledge base for innovative market understanding and thought leadership
  • Experience with selling to hospitals, clinics, health systems, physicians, and government in the healthcare sector, with a deep understanding of needs, timelines and process (at a minimum knowledge of how to manage business development efforts and who to bring on to the team to support these target market objectives)
  • Clear understanding of how to sell to the different stakeholder groups, sales timeline, approach, established contacts that can be built upon for sales and partnerships
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and revenue targets, developing and executing effective sales and marketing strategies, and leading high-performing teams.
  • Experience in building a sales funnel from initial business development pilots through to scaling software enterprise sales
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to use data-driven insights to optimize sales and marketing performance
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, creative thinking, and strategic vision, and comfortable in a fast moving startup environment
  • Ability to identify new opportunities, overcome challenges, and adapt to changing market conditions
  • Passionate about healthcare technology sector and digital health solutions
  • Knowledge of the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the digital health sector

Please Note: This contract position is not with LG Electronics but with a startup that is supported by LG NOVA. We expect this contract to last around 6 months with the potential to move to a full-time position with the startup.

Location: Currently, this can be a remote or hybrid position with business travel as needed. If this position transitions to full time, presence in or relocation to the bay area in California may be requested. The compensation range on this posting is for the Santa Clara, California area. Ranges might change dependent on location.
