In 2019 the facility was designated as Meggitt's Machining Center of Excellence with state-of-the-art multi-axis milling, turning, and additive layer manufacturing equipment.

* Parker Meggitt Fluid Systems Division - North Hollywood, California manufacturing features an upgraded 110k square foot, world-class manufacturing and testing facility. The facility has been designated as a Machining Center of Excellence within the Parker Meggitt group with recent additions of state-of-the-art multi-axis milling, turning, and additive layer manufacturing equipment. We also have testing capabilities for fluid and pneumatic valves that can duplicate the high temperatures, pressures, and flow rates of modern aircraft systems. * Parker Meggitt Fluid Systems Division - North Hollywood, California facility designs and manufactures valves and controls that regulate the flow of air and fluids under pressure and high temperatures. Its pneumatic and fluid control lines include fuel, mixing, and starter valves, air-oil separators, and solenoid valves, used in commercial and military aircraft and aero engines. Industrial offerings provide fuel and bleed-air control valves and ground fueling products for power generation and mechanical drives.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Inspection Manager provides leadership, direction, and training for the quality inspectors group within a business unit. Manages day-to-day functioning of the Quality Assurance Team to ensure areas of work, customer services and product qualities are maintained to the highest standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform all essential duties as the Quality Inspection Manager as defined in the QMS

* Lead Quality Inspection teams to support customer needs, company requirements, and compliance items.

* Manages staff selection, performance, development, and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations

* Develops, implements, and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and activities

o Defines and specifies the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of company products.

* Responsible for ensuring that all purchased material and fabricated parts meet established standards.

* Assure that there is an effective calibration and maintenance program for mechanical and electrical test instrument integrity.

* Responsible for the techniques and methods used, and personnel employed in the inspection process, assuring that products are manufactured according to required workmanship practices and standards.

* Responsible for final acceptance testing of all products.

* Provide guidance on the inspection plan by part by metrology mode.

* Establish plant-specific CMM standards and guidelines.

* Provide quality leadership to all functions within the plant to achieve Customer Satisfaction and overall business objectives

* Provide technical guidance and leadership for GD&T and SPC implementation and interpretation

* Monitor Performance and determine necessary training for inspection team, as well as all manufacturing employees

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Education: Bachelor's Degree is required | Master's or MBA is preferred

Experience:

o 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality assurance environment

o 4 to 6 years supervisory experience with documentation and implementation of quality and continuous improvement systems. Experience leading an Inspection team.

o 2 to 5 years' experience with CMM management

* Travel: 25% annual

  • Skills:

o Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

o Must have application knowledge of military and world class quality specifications

o Knowledge of Quality Control practices and techniques

o Worked in a union environment

o Must have excellent working knowledge in military and aerospace standards

o Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

o Must be able to write technical procedures, reports, and correspondence.

o Must be able to work independently as well as with a team.

o Must assist in proposal writing.

o Must be familiar with software configuration control processes.

o Must be familiar with power electronics aerospace and military standard practices.

o Experience with implementation and management of PPAP

o Experience with implementation and execution of PFMEA process

o Experience with implementation and execution of APQP process

o Experience with coordination and management of customer requirement changes and flow down

o Must be a team player experienced in working as a team to meet commitments and meet challenges

o Must be excellent at developing employees

o Computer literate with ability to develop reports, spread sheets and other required reports

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with Expert Excel required

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $95K-152K
