Job Description:

Zscaler is looking to recruit a Senior Payroll Specialist to assist the team in the key operational needs of the payroll processing for US and Canadian employees, support the month-end close process, and implement best-in-class procedures as well as drive process improvements and transformation to scale the back-office function to meet the fast-paced growth of the organization.

This role will be a key member of the Accounting & Finance team. This individual will be a dynamic, detail-oriented, and strategic partner for finance who is capable of collaborating across departments as well as working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Process the semi-monthly US payrolls for 2,000+ employees using ADP Workforce Now (Ceridian Dayforce beginning July 2024)
  • Assist with the semi-monthly Canada payroll using Ceridian Dayforce for 100+ employees
  • Report US and Canada equity transactions (NSOs, ISOs, ESPP and RSUs) in Payroll
  • Perform variable pay, stock, or other supplemental or non-recurring pay runs, ensuring timely tax deposits
  • Ensure timely reporting and payment of the employer's and employees' withholding taxes and miscellaneous withholdings to appropriate agencies. Work with Ceridian / ADP Tax Services to resolve any issues
  • Collaborate with payroll accounting on payroll journal entries and GL account reconciliations
  • Process accurate year-end payrolls, W-2, and government reporting and file any necessary payroll amendments
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
  • Maintain compliance of payroll processes within SOX guidelines
  • Collaborate with People and Culture (HR) for payroll related matters such as new hires, terminations, merit increases, benefits, and change of status
  • Work on special projects, including the implementation of Ceridian Dayforce, and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner
  • Ability to provide consistent high-quality service to both internal and external payroll clients through inquiry resolutions and follow ups

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of processing payroll for publicly traded and SaaS companies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Experience with software packages Ceridian Dayforce, NetSuite, SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, highly desired
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment under tight timelines
  • Result-oriented individual with high degree of accuracy and ability to take initiative

Zscaler's salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$85,000$115,000 USD
