ROLE DESCRIPTION: AVP, Sales Officer for Communications, Media & Technology:

Cognizant is seeking a Sales Officer for Communications, Media & Technology industry sector for the North American market. This role is the head of sales for the sector responsible for creating and executing a focused pro-active market strategy for selling into New Logos the full suite of Cognizant's services and solutions that enables our clients to modernize technology, reimagine processes and transform experiences so they stay ahead in a fast-changing world.

The role requires a hands-on sales leader that has a proven track record to originate, shape, qualify, pursue and close strategic deals for the company. The role will "quarterback" strategic deals in New Logos that can involve complex multiple tower solutions working with a wide set of external and internal stakeholders across the deal's sales lifecycle to continuously improve win ratio for Cognizant. The external stakeholders include but are not limited to CXOs and senior stakeholders across the business and technology functions in the customer organization, as well as third party advisors, private equity firms, industry analysts and sourcing advisors, eco-systems partners particularly hyper scalers and platform firms. The internal stakeholders include business unit leadership, corporate large deal team, global partnerships and alliance function, and analyst and advisor function, service line sales and solutions team, and key business support teams such as corporate development, marketing, finance, and HR. As Head of Sales, The role will also have responsibility of managing Account executives that will be responsible for specific target accounts.

This role works with Business Unit Head for the Communications, Media & Technology industry sector, Americas to drive the strategy.

Key Responsibilities

* Responsible for meeting BU TCV targets and closing large TCV Deals across the Communications, Media & Technology industry sector for the North American market.

* Lead the AE team on assigned to sub-segments and target accounts, setting the sales strategy and taking overall responsibility for developing and nurturing the team.

* Build and maintain CXO relationships in the portfolio

* Drive growth through hunting new opportunities and managing Sales Targets of the team at the SBU level

* Manage the shaping and closure of opportunities on assigned New Logo's, leveraging company specialists to support as necessary.

* Perform market research and analysis to identify and develop potential customers. grow a pipeline to meet the requirements of the sales targets.

* Creating sales goals and implementing initiatives to increase sales

Required Experience:

* Current/recent Head of Sales in Communications, Media & Technology Markets with specific industry background in the USA.

* Candidate must have deep knowledge to originate, shape, qualify, pursue and close deals in New Logos that are Global 2000 corporations as well as Digital Natives.

* Knowledge of the large outsourcing space, deal structuring and experience in the outsourcing space.

* Highly skilled in the art of highly proactive strategic deal origination and closure.

* Strong, active network of third-party advisors, private equity firms, industry analysts and sourcing advisors, eco-systems partners particularly hyper scalers and platform firms.

* Track record of interacting and building relationship with C-level client contacts.

* Knowledge of executive decision making in complex global organizations with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.

* Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

* Wide variety of IT and business consulting engagement experience

* Minimum 15 years' experience working for a Global Consulting, Systems Integrator, or Technology Services firm leading the Sales team and experience in the Communications, Media and Technology industry sectors.

* Minimum 10 years' experience selling Applications Development & Maintenance, Business Process Outsourcing, and Information Technology Outsourcing.

* Demonstrated success selling deals in New Logos in the $50 -200M range.

* Demonstrated consecutive quarterly and yearly quota achievement in complex selling environments utilizing a solution selling mode
