As a member of the Sequencing Cartridges MSAT (Manufacturing Sciences and Technology) team, you will be responsible for defining, developing, and supporting critical production equipment and processes. MSAT is a matrix organization and this role acts as a subject matter expert in the design and care of production equipment.

This role drives excellence in production automation working in cross-functional and multinational teams and projects. This role will ensure compliance through document management, nonconformity management, and equipment change management. You contribute to product supply by supporting and maintaining equipment, process controls, and automation systems. You take an active role in ensuring product quality to not only maintain product supply but also increase yields and equipment uptime.

Your Opportunity

Development of Production Equipment:

  • Develop and implement automation concepts into production

  • Coordinate and plan changes for applications, process controls, and automation systems

  • Support troubleshooting and maintenance of applications, process controls, and automation systems

  • Working closely with suppliers, support acquisition of custom equipment for production including designing and executing studies on Proof-of-Principal/Proof-of-Concept workstations and contributing to defining requirements

  • Participates in process development to align with manufacturing site capabilities.

  • Support Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and Qualification/Validation, especially in terms of definition of quality checkpoints

Sustaining of Production Equipment:

  • Ensure operational readiness and conformity of equipment, process controls, and automation systems including technical documentation

  • Take an active role in identifying and implementing continuous improvement of applications, process controls, and automation systems

  • Support deviations, changes, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)

  • Ensure regular monitoring of applications, process controls, and automation systems

  • Support digitalization and implementation of Industry 4.0

Who You Are:
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science

  • 5 years of relevant experience working in Medical Device or In Vitro Diagnostics industry in roles related to Engineering or Operations

  • You have strong influencing skills; consistently achieves targeted results without authority

  • Possess exceptional skills in assessing, summarizing and presenting business or operational priorities for effective, and efficient management/executive decision-making.

Knowledge skills and abilities

  • Experience developing, executing, analyzing and documenting robust multivariate Design of the Experiments (DOE) and statistical data analysis (using statistical software such as Minitab or JMP) is a plus.

  • Experience evaluating assembly tolerances, part design, material selection, and manufacturing methods. Solidworks or similar design/modeling software experience.

  • Experience drafting requirements, facilitating assembly, buy-off, and characterization of custom process equipment is a plus.

  • Process development and characterization is a plus.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is 105,400.00 - 195,800.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
