Test Engineer
Location: Santa Clara, CA
(On-site)
Job Term: Full-Time
Opportunity:
Picarro is seeking a Test Engineer in Operations to support manufacturing of our analytical instrumentation.
This role will be critical in making our products more manufacturable and solving complex problems
that come up in the testing of the product. It will be the responsibility of the Test Engineer to assimilate
new products delivered from Engineering and be the key person for product support and failure analysis in Manufacturing.
The role will also include performing final tests and improving those tests to make them ready for Manufacturing.
Experience with analytical instrumentation and analyzing data is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Be the point person and participate in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for new analyzers, peripherals, and tests.
  • Troubleshoot final test failures, propose containment and corrective actions.
  • Perform data workup from experiments; present and discuss results with stakeholders.
  • Be able to understand and communicate failures to engineering staff.
  • Ensure products are transferred with industry standard performance, reliability, manufacturability, scalability, and serviceability.
  • Design, develop, and implement efficient and effective test systems for our production environments.
  • Analyze existing testing and production processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related field / equivalent experience
  • Experience with instrumentation and troubleshooting.
  • Prior experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable: spectroscopy, gas handling systems, lasers, thermal engineering.
  • Experience using Data Analysis tools, such as Python, required.
  • Ability to work across functional boundaries to encompass working with systems engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extremely organized, quality, and detail oriented, with an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing or Production environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds.
Salary & Benefits:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000. - $85,000. Your base salary range and title will be
determined based on the location, experience, qualification, skills, knowledge, level, and pay of employees in similar positions.
