Your Team, Your Impact

As a hardware and silicon validation principal engineer at Marvell, you'll be helping to deliver high bandwidth over long distances. This team performs analog validations on amplifiers that drive optical electronic devices and receivers. We also validate silicon photonics, do upper electronic measurements and support the coherent digital signal programming unit. This is a niche area at Marvell, working with cutting edge technologies used by many internal and external customers around the world.
Storage Marvell is a leading provider of innovative storage technologies,
including ultra-fast read channels, high-performance processors, leading edge transceivers, highly efficient analog designs, and powerful cryptographic engines.
These solutions address all segments of the hard disk drive (HDD) Fiber Channel (FC) and solid-state drive (SSD) electronics markets.
Many of the same technologies have been utilized in Marvell storage system solutions products, powering PCs, servers, cloud, and enterprise systems.

What You Can Expect

  • Will be testing early engineering & pilot release Fiber Channel SoC for host bus adapter to ensure that the designs meet the design specifications as well as comply w/industry standard interfaces to which they may be connected and the requirement from the customers. Which includes, but not limited to power dissipation, linkup, IO, current, voltage, thermal, inrush current, digital signal, optical signal...
  • Will work with design engineers, Firmware Engineers, Driver Engineers on test plan and run the test.
  • May need to work on computer assembly, configuration, set up for testing purpose.
  • Need to understand the automatic script and do some modification on them.
  • This expertise is primarily in the hardware test & measurement field. You need not be strong in software or design, though those skills are certainly a plus. You must be highly motivated, self directed, and able to deal w/shuffling priorities. You may have come from a sustaining engineering background, or a hardware test background.

What We're Looking For

  • Must have an interest in system level testing and understand PCB's to the component level.
  • Must be able to work from schematics and PC Board layout file.
  • Ability to generate test plans & test results related to board design requirements for both industry standards & integrated circuits by reviewing standards documents & integrated circuits specifications.
  • Experience w/state of the art board debug equipment, including sampling scopes & logic analyzers, power supply, and other lab equipment.
  • Experience w/measurement of digital signals (100MHz+)
  • Should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiar on how to use Window, Linux computer system.
  • Experience w/PC's, including the ability to install operating systems & execute diagnostics.
  • Preferred to know some basic thermal theory. Good to have, but not have to have basic knowledge on FC, PCIe...
  • Preferred to know or willing to lean how to maintain the optical component performance.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

137,510 - 206,000, $ per annum

The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
