Mechanical Assembly Technician (Contract)

The Opportunity:
Picarro is looking for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Assembler for production should have experience building products with most of the following: PCBA's, power supplies, air/vacuum pumps, precision mechanical parts, fiber optic cables, cable assemblies, compression fittings, sheet metal, tubing, and adhesives.
Qualifications:
  • Must have recent soldering and cable harnessing experience.
  • Must have good eye/hand coordination with the ability to see and handle small parts.
  • Must be able to read and follow written work instructions, interpret wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
  • SMT rework skills are desirable.
  • Basic computer knowledge required.
  • Knowledge of MS Word and Excel preferred.
  • Able to lift 35lbs and stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Beyond these primary skills, the ideal candidate will be capable of a wide range of assembly procedures covering a variety of subassemblies.
Key Skill sets:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • An understanding and ability to articulate the production flow of assigned products.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task.
  • Ability to solder.
  • Good with hand tools (e.g. crimper, cutter).
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and schematics.
  • Capable of building assemblies using Swagelok fittings, tubes, and leak-test valves.
  • Experience with integration of mechanical and optical assemblies - including the safe handling of fiber optics.
Salary:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $41,000 - $55,000 annually. Your base hourly salary will be determined based on the location, experience, qualification, skills, knowledge, level, and pay of employees in similar positions.
