We are looking for a Staff Electrical Engineer to join our Intevac team. In this position you will assume responsibility for the design and development of semiconductor and disk media product power supplies and systems. This is a senior level position requiring experience with capital equipment electrical systems, DC power supplies (40kW) and RF generators. Responsibilities:

  • Design commercial power electronics products and high-power semiconductor switches (SCR, IGBT, BJT, MOSFET, etc.)
  • Cable design and system interconnect
  • Design semi-S2 safety standards for high power
  • Design cables and boards for vacuum components (gauges, MFC's valves, turbo controllers)
  • Troubleshoot designs with the use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, volt meters, impedance, and frequency generators

Desired Qualifications and Key Personal Attributes

  • Ideal candidate has a BSEE or higher in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or other related technical discipline
  • 6+ years of experience with electrical systems design/troubleshooting on typical semiconductor tools including RF plasma, PVD, CVD, and etch processes
  • Knowledge of high and low pass filter design, signal conditioning and noise mitigation
  • PCB design experience with Altium
  • High-power RF circuit design experience up to 13.56MHz.
  • Experience with microcontroller, DSP design, digital, analog, & mixed design
  • Experience with designs for EMI and EMC safety compliance
  • PDU design experience 480VAC is a plus
  • Experience with software such as Agile, or Omnify configuration control
  • Knowledge of layout industrial networks such as Ethercat & Profinet
  • Use of PLC's and design safety locks
  • Self-starter who can take ownership and proactively resolve issues
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work with diverse personalities, build effective relationships and interact appropriately and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Roll up your sleeves, positive, do what it takes attitude, which is critical in a small company environment
