Job Description

Shockwave Medical, Inc. is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.

The Senior Tender Specialist is responsible to manage and coordinate the tendering process in Italy, ensuring compliance with regulations, maximizing profitability, and supporting the Sales team by being closely aligned with the business needs. The role reports to the Contracts Manager.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and Execute Tender Processes: Manage the end-to-end tender process efficiently, including thorough review of tender documents, timely submission of all required materials, and direct interaction with customers. Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure alignment and maximize success.
  • Daily Tender Review and Sales Team Alert: Conduct daily review of newly published tenders and promptly alert the sales team to relevant opportunities, enabling swift action and strategic planning.
  • Maintain Comprehensive Tender Archive: Establish and maintain a well-structured archive of tender documents and contracts. Design and implement reporting mechanisms and processes to ensure easy access to historical data and insights for future reference and analysis.
  • Register Company on Regional/National Platforms: Register the company across various regional and national platforms (e.g., MEPA, CONSIP, ESTAR) to enhance visibility and accessibility for potential tender opportunities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Interact with Local Bank for Bank Guarantees: Serve as the primary point of contact with the local bank to issue bank guarantees as required, facilitating smooth execution of tender processes and compliance with financial regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in ideally a science based or economics/business studies related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tender management, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of tender processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, coupled with expertise in Power BI and Salesforce, is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
