The Intelligent System Experience Engineering organization is looking for a driven and dedicated Software QE Manager. As a member of our dynamic group, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of leading the quality efforts for the most iconic operating systems - iOS, iPadOS, macOS & visionOS. This team works on some of the core system applications such as Setup, Settings, Files, Finder, Spotlight, Contacts and many more. In this role, you will work closely with Engineering, other QE and SDET Managers on delivering the highest quality experience to our customers. Partner with an energetic, hard-working, fun team of managers, engineers, cross-functional teams, and world-class designers to deliver the best system experiences!

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years leading a QE or Software engineering team
  • Deep understanding of modern software development methodologies, architecture, and SQA methodologies
  • Open-minded with strong collaboration skills
  • Comfortable working in a continually changing and dynamic environment and driving top issues to resolution
  • Passionate about great customer experience, specially great UI experience
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and a creative problem solver with interest in developing high quality software.
  • Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly and propose resolutions.
  • Advanced proficiency with iOS macOS or other operating systems such as Unix/Linux
  • Exposure to automation/scripting


Description

As a Software QE Manager, you will lead a team of 5-6 QA Engineers & will be responsible for many projects on iOS & macOS. You will work closely with your team, other software engineers, project managers and various quality teams at Apple. You will coordinate testing with other teams, review test plans and related documentation, monitor progress, and provide sign-offs at key milestones. You will process data from multiple sources, draw meaningful conclusions, and present valuable recommendations to leadership. You will also be expected to contribute as an individual contributor. YOUR MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: - Manage a team of 5-6 QA Engineers - Develop, modify, and execute test strategies, plans, and programs - Coordinate and optimize testing in a cross-functional environment - Work with Automation team to come up with automation plan - Reporting, providing sign-offs & escalations of issues - Actively participate in testing the deliverables

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $183,400.00 and $316,900.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
