The Core Platform team within Apple's Core OS organization is looking for a hardworking and inspired manager to lead the Software team that understands the Hardware. The team is responsible for all phases of Software delivery from silicon conception until ramp to mass production to support a range of hardware platforms, including iPhone, iPad, Macs, AppleWatch, and AppleTV. You will work with the SoC design team to help define features of new silicon, be responsible for the SecureROM and secure boot architecture and delivery as well as bring-up of all new ARM based silicon and the development of new technologies. You will review the design and bring-up of all new Apple hardware (iPhone/iPad/Macs/AppleWatch/AppleTV, and more), deliver platform device drivers, and help debug and solve problems from prototype to production. This is a highly multi-functional and visible role, and you will be directly involved in decisions that affect every future Apple device. The position requires a very technical and hands-on leader, experience in working closely with silicon and hardware teams, and a deep understanding of bare metal software. You are a highly self-motivated individual who creates a dynamic and creative team environment in which problems are solved in new and innovative ways.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience managing a software development team
  • Direct experience in boot loader development, device driver development, kernel, and firmware software technologies.
  • Understanding of SoC level design
  • Evidence of driving technical innovation
  • Strong communication skills


Description

Leadership and management of a team of hard-working software engineers in a fast-paced and demanding software development environment Working closely with the hardware and silicon teams to bring-up new platforms, products, and prototype systems Defining the software roadmap to support a range of hardware platforms, including iPhone, iPad, Macs, AppleWatch, and AppleTV. Lead the team's assistance in requirements for future hardware and custom silicon.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's or Masters degree in computer science or related field

Additional Requirements

  • Experience with ARM based SoC's


Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $183,400.00 and $316,900.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
