Overview:

Henkels & McCoy, Inc., one of the largest privately held international utility contracting firms, is seeking a senior level Environmental Planner - NEPA/CEQA Specialist to be based at its Pomona, CA, office to help ensure successful NEPA/Environmental Planning/Environmental permitting to work on a variety of power utility projects in California and the western United States.

Our focus is the energy resource markets, and our services include underground and overhead transmission, distribution, substation, renewable energy (solar), SCADA and telecommunications, conduit, substructure, foundation, civil and structural, vault inspections as well as grounding and cathodic protection systems. In addition, we provide project management, construction management, field oversight, constructability reviews, and value engineering, specification reviews, bid development and evaluation. As an environmental leader in the power industry, NEPA/CEQA compliance is key to our company’s values as well as our clients.



Major Job Elements:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


1. Manage NEPA/Environmental Planning/Environmental permitting policy within Henkels & McCoy

2. Project management of large scale (>$500,000), multi-disciplinary projects

3. Business development and proposal management for CEQA/NEPA opportunities

4. Develop and build client relationships for the firm

5. Leadership and mentoring of staff (motivating and directing staff)

6. Document preparation including proposals, EIR/EISs, and permit applications



Qualifications:

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:


1. BS Degree + 10 to 15 yrs experience or Masters or PhD degree in planning, resource management, environmental studies or a closely related field

2. Ten years or more of progressively responsible post-graduate professional experience in managing large complex projects including environmental assessment; NEPA compliance and permitting; working with regulatory agencies and the public; resource protection and management; social and economic analyses and related technical areas

3. Knowledge of pertinent environmental regulations

4. Strong business/client orientation with proven business development and client relationship skills. Must have a demonstrated record for identifying and successfully pursuing new clients and projects
