We are gearing up for a very exciting period in our long history and currently have an opening for a Director of Financial Services at our Modesto Campus.
 
The Director of Financial Services (DFS) has a dual reporting relationship to both the Corporate Director of Financial Services and the Campus Director.  This position requires cross-functional coordination at the campus level and with the Corporate Administrative Office (“CAO”). As a member of the campus management team the DFS supervises the employees of the Business Office, Facilities Department, and Bookstore.

As the Director of Financial Services, you will get to: 
  • Manage and submit Monthly Collection Detail Report to the Campus Director
  • Assist the Campus Director in the creation of Budgets and Reforecast.
  • Review, analyze and provide reports related to the financial performance of the campus.
  • Ensure and Maintain compliance of all policies and procedures in the functional areas of Finance at the campus.
  • Ensure timely processing of cash collection from outside agencies and students
  • Ensure timely processing of the return of Title IV funds
  • Monitor Title IV adjustments to ensure that they are made on Student’s Account based on calculation provided by Financial Aid.
  • Review Group Fund Detail Report and notify Financial Aid of any potential errors
  • Maintain Student Financials Title IV/Cal Grant compliance at the campus.  This includes timely return of money in regards to credit balances and timely return of subsistence checks to student where applicable.
  • Ensure that the processing of Accounts Payable is within compliance of policies and procedures as defined by CAO Accounting.
  • Perform final reconciliation of student’s account receivable
  • Maintain a monthly inventory in the bookstore.
  • Maintain monthly campus reconciliation documents of all Title IV and Cal Grant accounts
  • Submit Monthly DFS Checklist and pending funds collection reports to the Corporate DFS on a monthly basis.
  • Work with Financial Aid to clear up any COD monitoring alerts.
 
Requirements to be successful in this position include: 
  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration/Accounting or with at least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Student Financials functional experience along with an understanding of Student Financials business operations is required.
  • Working knowledge of  generally accepted accounting principles
  • Excellent project management, organization, communication, problem solving, analytical, and customer service skills
  • Skill in handling multiple priorities, taking initiative within area of responsibility, and adapting to change.
  • Ability to participate successfully in a team environment, perform knowledge transfer, motivation to achieve common objectives, and the ability to report to multiple managers as necessary.
  • Ability to provide timely, meaningful, fact-based, and constructive feedback to others.
  • Strong skill in oral presentations and written communications.
  • Strong time management, organization and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently.
  • Ability to handle difficult/delicate situations with diplomacy and tact.
  • Skill in relationship development and management.
  • Ability to deal with complex customer service issues.
